2019 Nissan Versa vs 2019 Chevy Spark
Proudly Serving Farmington, NM
The compact car market is quite crowded, which means you'll have plenty of choices. The 2019 Nissan Versa and the 2019 Chevrolet Spark are two standouts, and either one would be a great choice. However, the Versa beats the Spark in many ways, and we'll explain a few of these below.
Safety Features
The 2019 Versa comes with a range of standard safety features. For instance, its whiplash protection system uses specially designed headrests to protect drivers and front-seat passengers. During rear-end collisions, the headrests move forward, preventing injury to the neck and spine. The 2019 Spark has no such system.
Both the Versa and the Spark have standard passenger and driver front airbags, side impact head airbags, front side-impact airbags, front-wheel drive, seatbelt pretensioners, height-adjustable front safety belts, ABS, electronic stability and traction control, and a backup camera.
Reliability
To reliably and efficiently recharge the battery and power its systems, the 2019 Nissan Versa comes with a 110-amp alternator, which is more powerful than the Spark's at 80 amps. The Versa comes with a 470-amp battery, which again beats the Spark at 375 amps. With this level of reliability, the Versa will save you money, time, and trouble.
Wheels, Tires, Suspension, and Handling
The Versa has an available easy-fill tire system. During inflation, the vehicle's tire pressure monitoring system tells the driver when the tires are properly inflated. The Spark does not offer monitored inflation. On the Versa, you'll find rear and front stabilizer bars, which help keep it on the level during cornering; they're not available on the Spark.
For stable handling and a smoother ride, the Versa has a wheelbase that's 8.5" longer than that of the Chevrolet Spark (102.4" vs. 93.9"). The distance between wheels is 3.8" on the Versa wider in front and 4" wider in the back than on the 2019 Spark.
As you can see, the Nissan Versa beats the Chevrolet Spark in many ways. From its wider track and longer wheelbase to its long list of safety features, you'll find it a capable, confident choice. View our inventory online or come to Horace Nissan to see how the Versa stacks up against the Spark.
